MATCH PREVIEW: Cumberland Cup – Take 3
Windscale and Workington will make a third attempt to play their Cumberland Cup 2nd Round tie on Wednesday (7.45pm) – weather permitting!
After two postponements at Borough Park, the two teams will be hoping it’s a case of third time lucky at the Falcon Complex, Egremont.
The Reds Development Squad will be given the opportunity to complete the fixture with Danny Grainger unable to risk any of his senior players after three more picked up injuries at the weekend.
Danny Eccles will be added to the squad and Danny Grainger will take the opportunity to run the rule over a trialist whilst forgotten man, Robbie Hebson, could be given some game time after a lengthy spell out of football.
The Development Squad have struggled this season in the County League winning just two of seven matches played. They did play Windscale in a pre-season game, however, and a decent performance saw them hold the Wearside League outfit to a 1-1 draw.
The Cumberland FA have renamed the competition The Fred Conway Cumberland Cup and there will a round of applause in memory of the late chairman prior to kick-off.
Venue:
The Falcon Complex, Croadella Avenue, Egremont, CA22 2QN
