MATCH PREVIEW: Coast to coast

Reds will embark on their coast-to-coast trip on Saturday with another tough-looking assignment waiting for them after the cross-country trek.

They face Nathan Haslam’s in-form Whitby Town side at the now named Towbar Express Stadium for the traditional 3pm kick-off.

The North Yorkshire outfit are enjoying a more than decent season at the right end of the NPL Premier Division table and will be buoyant after becoming the first team to win at leaders Radcliffe in mid-week.

They are currently 9th with 26 points to their credit – four points more than Danny Grainger’s Reds who have played two games more.

It will be Workington’s tenth away game of the campaign with another to squeeze in on Tuesday before they make an overdue return to home soil next week.

The weather forecast suggests it might be a bracing afternoon on the east coast, as the first hint of winter arrives, so hopefully the boys will deliver a performance which can maintain our decent record at the Turnbull Ground.  In seven league visits we have won three, drawn three and lost once but have also lost an FA Trophy tie there.
