
MATCH PREVIEW: Borough Park – open for business
Reds will face a far tougher ninety minutes than they did on Thursday when Dumbarton come to town.
The cinch League 2 club are well ahead in their pre-season preparation, compared to Reds, and will be hurting after two pre-season defeats in the past week. They hosted Hebburn Town (2-3) and St. Mirren (0-3) but lost both on home soil.
And with Danny Grainger struggling for senior players for the pre-season encounter at Borough Park (3pm), Dumbarton will be favourites to repeat their victory in west Cumbria of twelve months ago.
Dumbarton recorded a deserved 3-0 success on their first visit to Borough Park thanks to an own-goal, a penalty and a sublime goal from Ross Maclean – all before half time.
Reds improved after the break but never seriously threatened a second half comeback. They fielded a number of trialists on that occasion and that will be the case this time too.
