MATCH PREVIEW: All roads lead to Borough Park
Another four-figure crowd is expected at Borough Park on Saturday as Reds host Trafford in an important NPL West Division encounter.
The games are starting to disappear now as the season reaches an exciting conclusion with Reds down to their final nine matches – four at home and five away.
Reds have dropped five points in their last two outings and the last three meetings against Trafford have resulted in 2-2 draws. That was the case last September when a penalty from Rowan Roach and a Reuben Jerome header saw Reds twice come from behind to salvage a point.
The squad is probably stronger now than it was when we visited Shawe View but Trafford have often upset the odds in west Cumbria.
Currently 3rd, Chris Willcock’s squad is gradually returning to full strength but Dan Wordsworth remains an absentee as he serves the second game of his suspension.
Trafford sit in 9th position with 47 points with four wins and five draws obtained on their travels.
This will be the seventeenth meeting between the clubs and the head-to-head reveals Workington have recorded six victories, Trafford have managed four with six matches resulting as a draw.
