Little is ‘buzzing’ to get down to business
New Reds signing Jordan Little says he’s ‘buzzing’ to get down to business at Borough Park.
Little made the move from Cleator Moor Celtic on Tuesday, prior to the 3-1 FA Trophy replay win over Droylsden.
His new manager Danny Grainger described him as a ‘good local lad who we expect to do well for us.’
Before he trained for the first time on Thursday evening, Little discussed the switch having only first been in contract with Grainger this week.
He texted me on Monday night and I signed on the Tuesday,
I’m buzzing it’s all done, I just want to get playing now.
Reds’ scintillating start to the season also seems to have added to the attraction for the defender, and he’s already feeling comfortable at Borough Park.
It’s great walking into a changing room with everyone wanting to win.
Everyone has made me feel welcome so it’s great.
Furthermore – with the strong defensive partnership of Dan Wordsworth and Sam Smith along with coaches Grainger and Gari Rowntree slotting in at times – the fight for a spot in the back line will be tough; no surprise to the West Cumbrian native.
It’s going to be a good competition to try and get my place in the squad but that’s what I want. It’ll make me try and work harder.
Finally, Little is also not too focussed on personal targets yet, revealing:
I just want to work my way into the starting XI and have a great season.
Reds welcome Runcorn Linnets at Borough Park tomorrow in the NPL North West Division, kick-off 3:00pm.
