League football returns to Borough Park
Workington AFC is pleased to confirm that Borough Park will host the top-of-the-table clash against Tadcaster Albion on Saturday as scheduled.
After the Runcorn Linnets match was cancelled on 19 October, everyone at the club has been keen to ensure that the game goes ahead. And, thanks to steps taken since then, we are now able to confirm that League action will return to the stadium.
While the complex issues that have affected the club have not yet been fully resolved, despite many of hours of work from Les Byers and the Board, the club strongly believes that the safety of all supporters is paramount. Significant work – as identified in this year’s structural report – was completed before the start of the season and a strategy is in place to ensure all four sides of the ground will be fully open.
With an offer in place for parents of Reds Juniors children, the club is hoping for a bumper crowd to watch Danny Grainger’s team take on a Tadcaster side that has also enjoyed a strong start to the season.
