Jordan Little on the Droylsden win and more

Jordan Little has described last night’s 0-4 win at Droylsden as ‘very important.’

Defender Little played 90 minutes in the resounding victory, and spoke post-match after an impressive display and almost scoring.

“It was very important; to go top of the table again,” he said.

“Hopefully, we can keep going and keep winning.”

Sleety conditions in East Manchester meant the splaying surface was tough, although it did little to faze the old-school centre-back.

“The pitch was very heavy but we’d had 10 days off,” quipped Little.

The West Cumbrian’s involvement in the third goal was initially as goalscorer – until the lads got back in the dressing room.

It was then revealed Brad Carroll got the final touch, nodding Little’s strike at the back post from a corner kick.

“It was on target, so I’ll claim it!

“The first game I played, against Leek, I scored – but I only do one a season.”

After arriving in October to add defensive cover, Little has made eight appearances.

“All I do is keep training, try hard and tonight I got my 90 minutes. I thought I did well.

“I knew it was always hard coming here with two good centre-halves so I’ve just had to bide my time.”

Moving on, there’s a Cumbrian derby on Saturday at Parkside Road, Kendal and Reds will be backed by a large group of travelling supporters.

Short and sweet, Little said: “Can’t wait.”
