In-house changes

Manager Danny Grainger has acted swiftly to tweak his back-room staff.  It follows the news earlier in the week which confirmed the departure of assistant manager Terry Mitchell, who has accepted a similar role with National North side, Darlington.

Grainger has announced that senior players, Conor Tinnion and Jamie Devitt, will be stepping up to assistant manager roles whilst continuing to play.  As a consequence, Conor will relinquish the captaincy and hand over the arm band to Dav Symington who becomes the new first team skipper.

“I’m delighted that Conor and Jamie have accepted the opportunity to step-up and I look forward to working with them,” commented the manager.

“Both have a vast knowledge about the game and are dedicated to the club and me,” he added.

“They won’t be scared to voice an opinion which is hugely important in this position and, working alongside Billy Redden and myself, I’m sure we can deliver a positive second half to the season.”

The manager also commented on the decision to make Symington captain saying, “He has shown his leadership qualities over the last couple of seasons and has been influential in the dressing room.  He has led the team in recent weeks and I’m sure he will be successful as skipper and help build on the progress we have made over the last few years.”
