Home start for Reds

Workington’s return to the Northern Premier League (Premier Division) will be marked with a home game as Reds host Ashton United on 12th August.

They are on the road for the two subsequent fixtures, travelling to Morpeth Town three days later for a first-ever NPL meeting against the most northerly club in the league.  The first Saturday trip of the new campaign is one of the longer journeys to Ilkeston Town.

It is a busy start with six games in August, including a Bank Holiday Monday trip to Bamber Bridge.

After that frantic opening, they begin their FA Cup campaign in September at the First Round Qualifying stage.

The other early season mid-week fixtures sees Reds hosting Radcliffe and Lancaster City whilst, in addition to the Morpeth game, we will travel to Marske for a Tuesday evening encounter.

The Boxing Day fixture will be at Atherton Collieries with the return match v. Bamber Bridge at Borough Park on New Year’s Day.

Macclesfield will travel to Borough Park on Saturday 18 November, subject to both teams being free of FA Trophy commitments with the return being the final away game of the season.

Our first ever visit to FC United of Manchester’s Broadhurst Park is not until March but we play them at home, provisionally, at the end of September.

Reds will be home on the final day of the season with Guiseley the visitors.
