First team off, Reds Ladies off, Development Squad on

The weather, as expected, has ruled out two of Reds’ fixtures scheduled for this weekend.

Borough Park was declared unplayable yesterday so the NPL West Division encounter versus Bootle became the first fixture lost because of the severe frost.

Workington Reds Ladies were due to play at Morecambe’s Mazuma Stadium on Sunday but the Division One North fixture v. Morecambe Ladies was also postponed on Friday.

But the Development Squad are preparing for action with their County League fixture v. Cockermouth due to go ahead on Saturday at Lakes College, Distington (2pm).    

Reds next scheduled league match is at Colne on Tuesday although the current cold snap is expected to last well into next week.
