Recap
To coin a phrase, this was a game of two halves with Reds well below par in the first and trailing by three goals, before recovering magnificently in the second to record an amazing victory.
The performance in the opening half was probably their worst of the season – slow on the ball, hesitant and, generally, second best all over the pitch
They conceded three goals and it could have been more.
But, after a verbal rocket during the interval, the young Reds responded and staged an exciting fightback.
Jayden Fulton reduced the arrears soon after the restart and then substitute Joe Carney (inset) took centre stage.
He netted Reds’ first hat-trick of the season, with three well taken goals, to secure victory by the odd goal in seven.
Most of those on duty had played in a 4-2 League Cup defeat at Rylands earlier in the season so the win was sweet revenge and the three points lifted them to second in the table.
Team: Joe Rumney, Luke Routledge, Harrison Telford, Joe Douglas, Callum Bell, Sam Christian, Kelvin Amor, Jack Sharpe, Alfie McDonough, Jayden Fulton, Bobby White. Substitutes – Joe Carney, Cohen French, Leyton Roberts (all used).
