It was a disappointing day on the road for the young Reds with their trip to Morecambe resulting in a first league loss in the JPL programme.
They made a poor start to the game and could have been behind before getting a foothold in the contest. Then, when they started to play, squandered several decent chances which came their way.
It was goalless at the break but another couple of opportunities were wasted early in the second half.
From thereon, it was a catalogue of mistakes and Pause, inspired by man-of-the-match, Jack Mount, dominated and scored four unanswered goals.
United had lost to Workington on the opening day of the season in the group stages of the League Cup, a defeat they avenged in style.
