Dawn of a new era

The dust has barely settled on the 2023-24 campaign but club officials are already making preparations for next season!

The first task, of course, is to introduce the new manager with Mark Fell officially in post from 1st May.  Mark has had the advantage of doing his preparation over the last couple of months so will have a good idea of what needs to be done before pre-season gets underway in two months time.

Already installed is his established backroom team – Graham Lancashire, Craig Rutherford and Madeleine Whitehouse – with some of the current staff considering similar roles under the new regime.

Mark Fell

We welcome Mark to Workington Football Club as he picks up the reins on team matters this week.

The club has been fortunate to get someone with Mark’s pedigree on board and he comes to us with an impressive record in non-league football.  He also has a good knowledge of West Cumbria in general so I’m sure he will settle very quickly.

Mark has had the unusual opportunity to have looked at the squad over the past few weeks which gives him a head start as he rebuilds the team for next season.

The Board look forward to working with Mark and wish him the very best of luck during his time at Borough Park.

Chairman Phil Norman

Mark has previously managed in the NPL with Ramsbottom United and Lancaster City, having cut his managerial teeth in the North West Counties League at Nelson ten years ago.
