First-team manager Danny Grainger says Reds won’t approach tomorrow night’s match against Clitheroe any different to usual.

The clash of two teams with title ambitions is being billed as a promotion six-pointer at Borough Park.

Firstly, though, Grainger gave us his thoughts on today’s Buildbase FA Trophy draw which saw us gear up to travel to Glossop North End on Saturday, 31 October.

“It’s another away trip and day on the bus – we’re getting used to them now,” he joked.

“We’d love a home game for the fans in a cup competition so we’ll be going down there to win the game.

“It’s in the pack of a really tough bunch of fixtures, so we’ll probably be rotating the squad a bit but we’ll still be looking to win it.”

Onto tomorrow’s test and boss acknowledged how big of the game the Clitheroe clash is.

A win would move us above the Lancashire outfit, and extend our winning streak to five games.

“We won’t approach in any different way but there’s not hiding place for how big it is to be honest,” explained Grainger

“It’s two teams eyeing the title, along with three or four other teams, and two who want to get one over on each other.”

“Both teams will be going out there to score goals.

“These are the games you want to be involved in whether it be as a player or a manager and the fans will be looking forward to it.

“It’s a big game and there’s no hiding away from it but we won’t be approaching it any differently.”

The men from Shawbridge have 14 points from their opening six games and are now one of four unbeaten teams left in the league, which includes us.

Grainger made note of their credentials for a title challenge but also affirmed his attention on us.

“They’re a very good team, there’s no getting away from that either,” he admitted.

“They’re probably now favourites for the league but we’ll be playing the way we know best and, hopefully, control the game on our own pitch.

“If we replicate anything like us normally, we’ll get the result.”

Kick-off tomorrow is at 7:45pm and we have encouraged visiting supporters from the Tier 3 area NOT to travel.
