Dan Wordsworth agrees to stay

Workington AFC are delighted to announce that Dan Wordsworth has agreed to stay with the club for another season.

The defender featured 36 times for Reds last term, scoring two goals and earning two man-of-the-match awards.

A former captain at Borough Park, he made a return to west Cumbria in March 2017 after a spell down under playing for Australian outfit Caboolture Sports – based in Queensland.

Wordsworth has made over 200 appearances and as a strong leader on and off the pitch, his proven quality should be beneficial as Danny Grainger’s team chase promotion from the Northern Premier League North West Division.

Reds get their league campaign underway at Borough Park against Pickering Town on Saturday 17th August.
