Reds’ Development Squad joint boss, Lee McCullough, has stepped down from his role with the club’s County League side.
He announced his decision earlier this week and leaves with immediate effect.
A former Reds player himself during the early 2000s, Lee made his first team debut during the Tommy Cassidy era – scoring in a cup match at Stalybridge Celtic. He spent several seasons playing for the Reserves in their Lancashire League days.
In more recent years, he returned to the Reserves set-up at the start of the 2018-19 campaign and was assistant to Billy Redden before taking over as manager when the latter left the club in October of that season.
And he returned to Borough Park sixteen months ago to run the County League side alongside Malcolm Allison.
Club spokesman Richard Lewthwaite paid tribute to the outgoing McCullough, “On behalf of the Board, I would like to thank Cully for all his hard work over the past couple of seasons with the Development Squad. They are an important part of our club and I’m sure the lads have benefitted from his input. We wish him well for the future.”
Craig Johnston, Malcolm Allison and Scott Christian will continue to work with the Development Squad.
