CONTRACT: Symington agrees to stay for 21/22
We are delighted to announce that wide man Dav Symington has re-signed with the club for the 2021/22 season.
Symington, 27, has made 148 starts over five campaigns at the club and has scored 36 goals – mostly long-range crackers.
The Workington wide man, our top scorer in the 2016/17 campaign, is a fan favourite at Borough Park and said upon re-signing (in an interview which will be published tomorrow): “It’s good to know you’re in the manager’s plans and hopefully, we can pick where we left off and get the promotion which we deserve.
“It was a simple decision [to make], I think it’ll be the same for all of the lads just because of the environment we have.”
Manager Danny Grainger commented: “Dav’s got the ability to go past anybody in this division and probably the division above.
“We can’t wait to see him back at his best and he’s a pivotal part of the dressing room, keeping it as positive as it is – along with giving Ruddy [Steven Rudd] and I bad heads with his antics.”
Symington’s comedic partner-in-crime, Jim Atkinson, has also today re-signed with the club.
