CONTRACT: Matty makes it three seasons in Red

We are delighted to announce that full-back Matty Clarke has re-signed with the club for the 2021/22 season.

Clarke, 21, arrived in August 2019 from Bradford Park Avenue and quickly established himself in the starting XI.

The regular right-back played a large part in a Reds defence which only conceded 25 goals in 31 games during the 2019-20 Northern Premier League campaign.

Chatting over the weekend about extending his stay, he said: “I’m delighted to sort it out early doors, long before the season starts again.

“It means I can get my head down and concentrate on coming back fitter and stronger for pre-season.”

Boss Danny Grainger added: “Clarkey is another young player who we think there’s more to come from.

“I’d like to see him get more assists and goals as he’s a fantastic player, and a great lad to have in the squad and around the dressing room.”

Robbie Hebson and Charlie Bowman also re-signed earlier today, and the trio’s respective interviews will be published tomorrow!
