CONTRACT: Dan Wordsworth pens new deal for a decade in Red
We are delighted to announce that defender Dan Wordsworth has re-signed with the club for the 2021/22 season.
Wordsworth, 30, is set for his 10th season at Borough Park after making his debut during the 2011/12 campaign.
Nicknamed ‘Goose,’ the no-nonsense centre-back has racked up 250 starts as a Red in two spells at the club.
The defender had no issues extending his stay, saying: “It didn’t take long to get sorted to be honest.
“Once I spoke to Danny [Grainger] and Ruddy [assistant Steven Rudd], I knew I was going to be re-signing.
“I’m not looking to go anywhere else, especially at my age.
“Just to get things sorted is good.”
Gaffer Grainger added: “Goose has got a fantastic attitude, he’s an aggressive type of defender and he’s worked very hard to become a vital part of the team.”
His partner central defensive partner, Sam Smith, has also today re-signed.
Watch out for Dan’s full interview available from 8am tomorrow morning on our website.
