CLUB STATEMENT: New Borough Park Safety Certificate

Workington AFC are pleased to confirm that yesterday afternoon, Cumbria County Council released their new Safety Certificate for Borough Park.

Valid through to August next year, the certificate permits the full use of both the Popular Side and Town End stands.

Chairman Les Byers said: “This is good news for our club, coming on the eve of our first home game of the new season.”

‘This comes on the back of last week’s structural survey of the ground, which found no issues requiring immediate action.”

We can also confirm that nearly all 400 tickets for this evening’s home game against Trafford have been sold.

Les urged fans to contact the club office this morning if they have not yet purchased a one.

“Again due to Covid-19 restrictions, we will only be permitted to admit a maximum of 400 people each game for the foreseeable future,” he added.
