Cass committed

Ceiran Casson, 22, will continue his blossoming career with hometown club, Workington.

He now has five seasons of NPL experience behind him and was eager to extend his stay at Borough Park into a sixth campaign.

“It was a simple decision to sign on again this year,” Casson revealed.

This will be my 6th season at the Reds and hopefully many more to follow. I’m looking forward to getting back onto the pitch again and working with the new manager and lads and see where this season can take us.

Manager Mark Fell, “To have a player of his experience despite only being 22 is a great asset for the club, he’s still developing as a player and in my opinion if he continues to improve he can progress to play higher again. He’s going to play in a critical position for us next season and our job is to put players around him to allow him to play to his strengths.”

He’s a red through and through and you need those players who really associate with the town.

His first two seasons were Covid interrupted but, under Danny Grainger and Chris Willcock, has made 124 competitive starts for Reds becoming a vital cog in the engine room of the side.

Cass has shown a remarkable level of consistency during his time at the club having progressed through the youth ranks at Carlisle United. He won his first Cumberland Cup winners medal as a teenager with United and has played in the last two finals for a winning Reds team.

A few weeks ago, he was named Reds’ ‘Young Player of the Year’ after another fine individual season.
