BOARD ANNOUNCEMENT

The club have announced that Chairman Dave Bowden is to realign his responsibilities in order to work on the Sporting Village project.

It has become increasingly obvious to everyone that the responsibility of both chairing the club and progressing the stadium project are impossible. He will therefore stand down as Chairman and Director of Workington AFC.

Mr Bowden said, “I need to give a dedicated focus to the project but will still be supporting the Board as we all continue to drive the club forward.”

A spokesman for the Board said, “David has played a major part in moving the club forward as both Director and Chairman over the past two years.

However, we agree realigning his responsibilities to focus on the Sporting Village project is in the best long term interest of the club.

We thank David for his dedication and hard work and hope to maintain the great progress made under his leadership.”
