Ashy’s long service honoured by FA
He has been part of the Borough Park furniture for well over fifty years and now his long service to local football has been recognised by the FA.
Neil McKeating, AKA Ashy, has been rewarded for more than twenty five years service to grassroots football as a volunteer, with a gleaming new trophy now proudly standing on his sideboard.

The Cumberland Football Association has presented the FA Volunteer of the Year Award to Northside based, Neil, for his outstanding work in Sunday League circles.
Currently the PA announcer on match days, Ashy first started to help at Borough Park in the late sixties.
The engraved trophy and certificate was presented to Neil on the Borough Park pitch prior to Saturday’s game against Carlisle United by Reds’ chairman, Dave Bowden.
