Ash and Charlie agree terms

Ash is a Workington lad and actually played against us a few seasons ago in the Cumberland Cup for Workington Athletic.

Ash Kelly

He subsequently turned out for Gretna 2008 in the Lowland League and scored ten goals for them last season. Ironically, his first goal in Workington colours was at Raydale Park against his former club.

After proving their worth during a protracted pre-season, Ash Kelly and Charlie Bowman have agreed to put pen to paper and join Reds in time for the new season.

He has impressed throughout the summer and has featured in all six games after making his Reds’ debut at Whitehaven.

Charlie has been on Reds’ radar for sometime but finally linked up with the squad in June after being sidelined since last August following an ACL injury.
He is based in the east of the county and has previously played for Penrith and Kendal Town. Charlie missed the first game at Whitehaven but has played in all the other matches since, scoring his first goal for Reds in the victory at Gretna.

Danny Grainger is pleased that both forwards have committed their immediate future to the club as he builds a competitive squad for the season proper which, eventually, gets underway in a fortnight.
