Another big test for Danny’s boys
The big games keep coming thick and fast with another one scheduled for Borough Park on Saturday with fifth placed Marske United the visitors (3pm).
They have played four games fewer than Reds but are only eight points behind in what has become a congested top six in the North West Division of the NPL.
United have started the New Year well and became the first team to take points from Pontefract Collieries at Beechnut Lane last week, with a 1-0 win their fourth in a row. That took their points tally to 36, obtained via eleven wins and three draws, with their record on the road one of four wins and one draw from eight played.
Back in October, Reds drew 2-2 at Mount Pleasant Avenue – twice coming from behind to obtain a point.
The squad have trained twice this week with one or two niggles to overcome before the manager names his starting XI. Recent signing, Cole Lonsdale, is expected to feature.
