A sad farewell

The funeral of Andrea Buggy took place on Monday and hundreds of people lined the streets to say farewell as the cortege meandered through the town.

Andrea was a former Workington Reds Ladies player and captained the side over a period.  She later became chair of the Ladies section but left this world at the tender age of thirty-nine.

Past and present players of the Reds Ladies teams assembled at Borough Park as the funeral procession passed the ground.  There was a mixture of applause and tears as Police out-riders guided Andrea to her final resting place.
