CLUB NEWS: Riggy’s Reds Future Secured

Workington AFC are delighted to announce that striker Steven Rigg has signed an improved deal for the remainder of the 2024/25 season, with an option of a further year at Borough Park.

The in-form front man has notched 14 goals in his last 12 games and has been a critical part of Mark Fell’s progressive squad.

Keswick based, Rigg knows better than most what it means to represent Cumbria’s top non-league club, he added “It’s been an enjoyable season so far, obviously there have been a lot of changes throughout the summer, but now it’s starting to come together. Hopefully we’ll get a few more lads back before Christmas and have a decent second half to the season!”

Manager Mark Fell was also delighted that his star striker has put pen to paper.

It’s important that we build a young side around some experienced players. Riggy has been a joy to work with and he’s had a fantastic season so far, he’s a role model for all players at the club and I’m delighted the club were able to reward him with an improved deal and an opportunity for us to secure him for next season as well.
