Award Winning Reds

Last night Cumberland FA held it’s annual Grassroots Awards Night at Brunton Park.

The community side of the club was represented by Mark Thompson and Gary Austin from our Ability Counts team.

Founded in 2022 and all conquering in our first season the three teams have found life a little tougher this time round in the season just finished. They still however managed to retain one trophy for the Boardroom shelves.

At the helm since their formation has been Mark Thompson who has taken on board what can be a challenging role and built good numbers as well as developing the players with his coaching techniques, hard work and determination.

All that effort was recognised last night as Mark deservedly picked up the Cumberland FA Coach of the Year (Disability Pathway) Award.

We’d like to thank Mark and his team for his efforts and we look forward to continuing our work with him further developing this huge asset of the club. A huge well done from everyone at the club!
