MATCH PREVIEW: A66 derby
Reds will head east on Wednesday for the first ever NPL encounter against Stockton Town (7.45pm).
They will make the 108 mile journey along the A66 for the Premier Division encounter at the Map Group (UK) Stadium and, for the second successive fixture will play on a 3G surface.
Promoted from NPL East, via the play-offs, Stockton have made an excellent start to life in the top flight and were 4th in the table after the weekend programme.
They emerged emphatic winners v. Mickleover on Saturday and have now recorded five successive victories in all competitions.
Workington used to play the old Stockton team, in the six seasons after the Second World War, during our latter North Eastern League days but this is a new chapter for the current Teesside club.
Mark Fell will have to shuffle the pack after Saturday’s game proved costly in terms of injuries, with Jordan Little definitely out with a broken foot. Fitness tests will be held before kick-off for two others. There is limited parking at the ground but please avoid parking in the housing area. The social club is outside stadium
