CLUB NEWS: Remembering Tony

It is now six years since the sad passing of former Reds’ skipper, Tony Hopper.

It was on the eve of an FA Cup replay at Kidsgrove Athletic when we learned that Tony, 42, had lost his battle with Motor Neuron disease. And, in our game the following day, the number 8 shirt wasn’t used as a mark of respect.

As always, we remember Tony and his family at this sad time.

But the name lives on and it was a touching, poignant moment to see Tony’s eldest son, Dan, involved with the Carlisle United first team squad at Brunton Park last night.
