MATCH PREVIEW: Coast to coast derby
Which way will Saturday’s NPL Premier Division fixture at Borough Park go?
Whitby Town have built-up an annoying habit of winning regularly in west Cumbria, six victories in ten visits over the years, although Workington’s record on the east coast is very good too.
And the Seasiders form this season has also been unpredictable with just one point obtained at home yet they have already won three times on their travels – at Matlock Town (2-0), Warrington Rylands (1-0) and, most impressively, at Hebburn Town (6-2) last Tuesday.
Their ten fixtures to date have produced thirty-three goals with Stephen Walker (8) and Jake Charles (4) enjoying good form during the opening six weeks of the campaign.
Mark Fell will have to assess his ever-growing injury list before naming his team but only three players, Alex Mitchell, Josh Galloway and Tom Wilkinson have started all eleven games this season.
Last season’s matches both finished all square with the 1-1 score line in North Yorkshire the start of that club record run of six consecutive draws. The return at Borough Park in January ended goalless and that was Reds’ last clean sheet on home soil.
