Tommy laid to rest
Family, friends and former colleagues said a fond farewell to former Workington manager, Tommy Cassidy, whose funeral took place on Tuesday.
He died on 2nd August at the age of 73.
Former Northern Ireland international, Tommy, was Reds second longest serving manager (2001-2007) and many of his former colleagues from Borough Park represented the club at the funeral – held at West Road Crematorium, Newcastle.
Former chairman, Dale Brotherton, was in attendance as were ex. staff members Kenny Brown, Colin Carter and Gareth Livingstone
Former players Craig Johnston, Marc Green and Steve Birks were also present.
And some of Newcastle United’s stars from the seventies also turned up to say good-bye including David Craig, Mick Martin, Pat Howard, John Anderson, Bobby Moncur, Ray Ellison and Jim Pearson as well as international friend, Sammy McIlroy.
RIP Tommy.
