Reds start with Yorkshire trip
Workington will kick-off their 38th season of Northern Premier League football with an away game at Guiseley.
Supporters will be hoping the fixture on 10 August is not a repeat of a crushing opening day defeat back in 1993 when they lost 6-2 at Nethermoor Park.
There is an intriguing first home match when Reds host Mark Fell’s previous club, Lancaster City, on Tuesday 13 August quickly followed by a Saturday home game against Leek Town.
The first midweek game on the road will be at Prescot Cables and there will also be a Tuesday night trip to Blyth Spartans in September.
Reds will be home on August Bank Holiday Monday for the first ever NPL encounter against Hebburn Town with the return on New Year’s Day.
Their seventh match in August will launch their FA Cup campaign.
Borough Park will host the Boxing Day fixture against Morpeth Town with the return at Craik Park on Easter Monday.
Another first-time meeting will see Reds travel to Stockton Town on the last Saturday in September and they will make the reverse journey across the A66 on 1st February.
Robbie Savage’s Macclesfield make the journey to West Cumbria at the end of November.
The regular season will conclude on 26 April with Reds hosting Ashton United.
