MATCH PREVIEW: Frenchfield next stop
Reds will be involved in another Cumbrian derby with their fifth pre-season outing pairing them with Darren Edmondson’s Penrith at Frenchfield on Tuesday (19:45).
It will be Workington’s ninth summer friendly at Penrith’s home of nearly fifteen years, since playing there for the first time in 2010. And their record there is no too bad with five pre-season victories recorded and two defeats suffered.
All their previous games have been on grass but they will play on the Frenchfield 3G surface for the first time in the latest encounter.
Mark Fell will rotate his squad and there will be more game time for some of those who have been limited to substitute appearances recently.
Penrith’s Northern League campaign kicks-off on Saturday week and they will be well into their league and FA Cup programme before Reds make their NPL bow on 10th August.
After the A66 derby, Reds will prepare for the visit of Morecambe at the weekend.
