Workington AFC are delighted to announce that striker Scott Allison has re-signed with the club ahead of next season.
Allison, going into his eighth campaign as a Red, is by far the current top goalscorer at Borough Park with 120 goals.
Nicknamed ‘The Ginger Messi’ by our faithful, the forward hit 23 league goals before the term’s curtailment, on course for the top scorer prize.
The Cumbrian also becomes our 11th re-signing of the summer.
Speaking over the phone, Allison said: “I’m delighted to have committed to the club for another season, it was a very easy decision.
“Last season was by far my most enjoyable season in football, it’s just a huge shame how it ended. I can’t wait to get back on the pitch whenever that may be and hopefully we can pick up where we left off.
“The way last season ended has left a bitter taste, but that’s also added motivation to go and do it again.”
Despite not knowing exactly when the 2020-21 term will get underway, manager Danny Grainger and assistant Steven Rudd have been working on recruitment to build on the last campaign’s table-topping effort.
