Girls are loud

Reds Ladies indulged in an enjoyable evening of music, banter, laughter, dedications, a general team togetherness, numerous acknowledgements and copious amounts of food and drink as they reflected on a very successful 2018-19 season.

They gathered to celebrate their achievements which culminated in the memorable Cumberland Cup Final success at Carlisle United’s Brunton Park.

Team manager Brian Heywood paid tribute to all the players, his supportive family, the team sponsors and the club’s chairman and directors for their backing over the past twelve months.

The players posed with the coveted Cumberland Cup (complete with red and white ribbons) and were then informed they had been awarded another trophy – Workington’s best sporting team.

And two unsung heroines stepped forward for recognition. Eleanor Hope lifted the Player of the Year trophy and Sophie Birkett got the nod from her team mates after collecting the Players’ Player of the Year.
