‘The boys have been really welcoming’, Millenic Alli interview

New Reds loan signing Millenic Alli says his new teammates have been ‘welcoming’ since he made the switch from South Shields.

Alli, 19, started in Bury’s academy before moving from Padiham to the North East this summer and has made seven appearances this season for his parent club.

However, the Dublin-born forward outlined his desire for more consistent minutes, which led him to Borough Park last week.

I was looking to get more game time

South Shields put it out that I wanted a loan move and there was interest from Workington.

The move is an initial month’s loan, and he won’t be available for Saturday’s Buildbase FA Trophy tie at Brighouse Town, but has trained three times at Penrith Rugby Club with Reds.

Speaking about fitting into the dressing room, Alli said:

The boys have been really welcoming; real nice guys.

I’ve already spoken to a lot of them in the dressing room. They’re funny guys and it’s all been good.

In terms of on the pitch matters, the teenager has set himself the following targets as he hopes to return to full-time South Shields an improved player.

I’m looking to get as many games as I can, score goals and get a few assists as well.

Reds travel to the Yorkshire Payments Stadium tomorrow for a 3pm kick-off.
